Is This A Police State?

Published by jparsh under Uncategorized Edit This

Police state by definition is this: a country that maintains repressive control over the people by means of police. Sound familiar? Anything from the jailing of the SHAC 7 (an animal rights group that spearheaded a campaign againstĀ  the animal research lab Huntington Life Science) to the police raid of a rented establishment in the St. Paul area used to organize the protests at the upcoming republican National Convention. I personally have had numerous experiences. One was an arrest of mine during a protest. I was on public land but still arrested for refusing to move. All for the protection of the large company we were protesting. Another was a protest at a Cheny/Edwards debate in Cleveland. We were offered a “free speech zone” where protest was allowed. My question was, “isn’t America the free speech zone”? The answer to that is no, not in this police state.
