Stuck On Who To Vote For

Published by jparsh at 1:32 pm under Uncategorized Edit This

I wrote a blog not too long ago about third party candidates and the need to vote for them. I feel it is very important to get more than our two party system going but I’m now fighting with myself about whether or not this is the time to do it. All the Obama supporters that I know have been telling me that he needs my vote, especially as how I live in Ohio. I’m falling for the same thing that I tell me people not to fall for, the “he can’t win anyway” way of thinking. It’s hard to think that I canĀ either vote for who I want, or vote for who I’d rather have in office compared to another guy that I don’t want. What a free country this is, vote for who has a chance or who you really believe in. Either way I lose and America loses.

Honestly, with that attitude…stay home. Don’t vote. In fact, tell all of your like minded friends not to vote as well. Screw it, if America and you both lose, then what’s the point of learning about any candidate. I hear that Nicaragua is a hot spot for ex-pat Americans these days…cheap living, inexpensive tickets, and beautiful views.

I feel for your despair but I don’t agree fully. We can at least try to change things. Ever major civil and industrial issue in history came about because of people who know the importance of forward motion.

The problem with the system is that the Republicans and Democrats have millions of dollars to spend on campaigning when the other’s do not so that’s why none of us even hear of the other candidates which is sad. I just received my absentee ballot and looking at the candidates realized that one of our Supervisors was running for president. I didn’t even know that. The bottom line is you should vote for who you think is the best to run this country and it doesn’t have to be one of the front runners. Vote your heart.

I know how you feel. I really contemplated voting Nader on my mail-in ballot (I loathe the two party system), but the truth is, the polls are still tight and you have to vote for who you really believe in. This election, I know that Barack Obama is not merely the lesser of two evils, but in fact an intelligent man willing to do whatever it takes to ease the lives of all Americans.
